Yaya Touré

Yaya is from the Ivory Coast. He is a midfielder and plays for Manchester City. Yaya used to play for FC Barcelona and was center back at that time. He has been voted African Footballer of the Year for many consecutive years. At the age of 18 he attracted attention from European leagues and gained entry. He is captain of the Ivory Coast's national team. Yaya caught my attention this week with his goal against Arsenal. It was a clean and strong goal.

Marta Vieira da Silva

Marta is a Brazilian soccer player and she plays for their national team. She is a forward. She won FIFA World Player of the year as she has scored 15 goals in the tournament. She holds the record for most goals at FIFA World Cup tournaments. People call her the female Pele ( an amazing male soccer player from Brazil). She holds an international career and even played in the United States for Los Angeles Sol.

He is the countries all time leading goalscorer in international matches. He is an amazing striker. PSG plays tomorrow against Shakhtar Donetsk. Zlatan has a wild personality and temper as seen on the pitch. He always says something interesting in any interview.

Virginia Torrecilla

Virginia Torrecilla is a forward, midfielder and defender. She plays for the women's national team in Spain and Montpellier HSC in France. Torrecilla used to play for FC Barcelona. She also played in 2015 Women's World Cup. The women's national Spanish team beat Ireland this past week, 3-0.  Virginia is my favorite player on the national team as she can be placed anywhere on the pitch and kill it. She is only 21 years-old and is doing well with her career.

Gianluigi Buffon

Gianluigi Buffon is an Italian goal keeper. He plays for Juventus and the Italian National team. He holds a record of clean sheets, which means he accomplished many games without being scored on. Before Juventus he played for Parma. Buffon lead his team to victory in the 2006 world cup in Germany. He is an amazing goal keeper and definitely a player to watch as he is getting older.  Also Juventus beat AC Milan this weekend 1-0.

(Currently 37 years-old)

El Clásico

Unfortunately my team Real Madrid lost. It was a brutal game, those 90 minutes were insane. I loved watching and hated losing. Ronaldo was not on his game as he barely touched the ball. Barcelona was on point, I can not deny that. Madrid's defense was not on point. I could not believe it. I nearly wanted to cry once the game was over. Suarez and Dani Alves were very irritating. My heart broke once Messi entered the game. Still not over the loss... Just happy to know I have my Madridistas out there.

4-0......

Top 10 Crazy Moments for Luis Suarez

Oh Luis Suarez... always generates some sort of surprise on the pitch.

Sergio Ramos

Player of the week 11/16/15

Sergio Ramos plays for Real Madrid and Spain’s national team. He is a central defender and a right back. He played for Sevilla FC before Real Madrid. Ramos receives a lot of heat from Sevilla since he left in 2005 to play for Real.  I am honoring him this week as Spain plays on Tuesday against Belgium. Also this Saturday is El Clásico where Real Madrid will play FC Barcelona. Sergio Ramos is my favorite player on Real Madrid and I look forward to watching him on the pitch. He is a strong defender and great captain.

¡Hala Madrid y Nada Más!

Andrés Escobar

  Player of the Week 11/13/15

Andrés Escobar played for Colombia's national team from 1988-1994. He was a great defender and was wildly known for his mistake during the FIFA World Cup of 1994. Colombia played America in that first round match. Sadly Colombia lost and were sent home. Escobar accidentally kicked a shot into his own team's net. That mistake haunted him and brought him death as he returned to Medellín, Colombia. During that time violence was coming into play with soccer. Escobar's death created a sad day in  Colombia. He had such  talent and was suppose to be signed to Milan, but his career was cut short due to the violence in Colombia. I recently watched a documentary on him and I wanted to honor him this week. Soccer is an escape from violence for most children in Colombia, but during those years cartels managed those teams. Today it is widely different as Colombia has progressed. The passion for soccer in Colombia is incredible.
